Recorded last September as part of Manchester’s Repercussion Festival, which was held at Depot Mayfield in conjunction with The Warehouse Project, this was a special appearance in a unique setting – upstairs at the Star & Garter pub, which borders the site, playing to a capacity audience of just 80 people! The room was decked out for the event with a high-end audio install courtesy of Manchester’s Mastersounds - the one-off combination of small room and big system a rare treat for all those able to squeeze themselves in and certainly one of the highlights of 2021 for me. A fabled Manchester Indie venue in more recent times, The Star & Garter’s history goes back over 200 years, when it was originally constructed in 1803 approximately 100 yards away, before being moved, brick by brick, to its current position in 1849 to allow work on what would later become Piccadilly Railway Station.
