Hi Gooey here, thanks for listening. My first musical influences came from my Mum listening to Prince and MJ when I was a kid like millions of other 80s babies. That was followed by the hip-hop heavy soundtracks to basketball highlight videos(yes actual video cassettes) I watched endlessly in the 90’s. the first album I bought was 36 Chambers by Wu-Tang Clan in 93 and for years I was completely hooked on the crackly head nodding beats of golden age hip hop and didn’t really listen to anything else. Until, a childhood friend came back to the UK from spending a few years in Johannesburg introduced me to a version house music, it was fairly minimal but the groove was incredible! Since then my style has evolved in all kinds of directions but always kept that hip hop attitude and that incredibly infectious groove. Enjoy.
