Emerge (magicicada septendecim) by goodbye, terror

While all cicadas are fascinating creatures, it may be argued that the Magicicada Septendecim, or Pharoah Cicada is the most fascinating. This North American native can spend up to seventeen years underground in it's nymph stage, preparing for only a few short weeks fully grown above ground, where it will join it's fellow brood in a frenzied swarm of mating and laying eggs before perishing together.
