CLD.RĀN -- the side project from the Luxembourg-based producer Victor Ferreira of the Sun Glitters fame -- will release the new album /ˌnɪk.təˈfɪl.i.ə/ (aka “nyctophilia”) on 11 September 2020 via Future Archive Recordings. (Ferreira is one of the label's co-founders as well.)

Following up on the debut EP which was released in October 2019 and which saw significant coverage on BBC Radio, Ferreira is continuing to widen and explore his more experimental music leanings through the CLD.RĀN moniker. The signature glitchy and distorted sounds help create an abstract flavor that is uniquely Ferreira's. The new album is a surreal journey through the world of electronic avant-garde music. Whenever things get weirdly experimental, however, Ferreira has a tendency to dial it back just enough to offer some solace before continuing on into the next experimental storm. The new album from CLD.RĀN is part tender, part abrasive. It is rich in abstract electronic sounds but aware of its human creator. A delight for the ears, yet unfamiliar enough to keep you wanting more.

Writes Ferreira: "This is an album about finding comfort in the darkness. It is in a way an expression of the weird situation that we are all facing at the moment… And it is also a commentary about how so much of humanity doesn’t really care for each other when it is asked to be unselfish... This also brought me to the idea of having all songs on the album named with words that have strange meanings…"
