The Boy with Depression (Original Short) by Fathin AMJ published on 2019-05-14T14:32:57Z Written in 2013/14 & Recorded in 2016. A song inspired by a friend who shared their experience going through depression. Trigger warning. The song is not about this friend at all. It's about two siblings: an older brother and a younger little sister who were survivors of a dysfunctional family and lived only with their abusive mother. The sister hoped that her brother would not fall to the depths of his depression because he's the only tangible hope they both had to escape their situation at the time. This song is her declaration of hope. Since she was still young, the focus was on "me" when in fact, what she really meant was "us". Lyrics: The curtains are drawn And your eyes are shone with the light of the dawn as if you have grown up alone When those feelings emerge from the deepest grief What would you do to urge me and to make me believe That your faith and not your death would take me out of this place That your faith and not your wrath would take me out of this mess Genre Shorts
