"Lucy's Song" was written for my daughter while she was in the womb. The idea was to try to capture some sort of sonic impression of all the feelings of expectation and reflection from that time. It's hard to put all of that into words though, so probably better to just listen! I do lots of field recording and often use bits and pieces as layers in songs. "Lucy's Song" has a bunch of scraps from tapes I had made during that time from days that stood out to me, and from just sitting on my front steps watching the world go by, which I did a lot of in the final couple weeks. I finished recording it about a week and a half before she was born.
