Dmitri Kourliandski - Octavia. Trepanation: Scene 1 (Preview) by FANCYMUSIC published on 2019-10-15T06:29:11Z The opera‘s music is based on the opening phrases of the revolutionary song «Varshavyanka» but stratches them out in time almost 100 times. The temporal transformation of the song reveals various harmonic and melodic metamorphoses that become «nutritional material» for the chorus, soloists and live electronic music. Thus arises a hermetic, self-referential construction that feeds on itself.
