Remaining Whole, Human And Hopeful Part 6: Jamila Walida Simon by Extension Out Loud

Jamila Walida Simon is the NYS 4-H civic engagement specialist. She's worked with 4-H for over a decade in both NYC, where she grew up, and in Ithaca. In this episode, Jamila shares strategies for creating welcoming spaces that honor the customs, traditions and identities of participants and community members while offering opportunities for dignified experiences. On a post-pandemic world she says,“I don't believe in a new normal. And hopefully, we don't go back to what was...The things that I'm paying attention to right now are how we create and maintain a sense of connection.”
