Caelum by erica_macleod published on 2017-04-13T21:49:11Z Caelum is a constellation in the southern sky, and was once known as Caelum Scalptorium, which translates from Latin into ‘the engravers chisel’. However, the word caelum has two Latin translations, one being ‘chisel’, and the other being far more rare and unrelated to the standard translation, meaning ‘heaven, sky, atmosphere’. I wanted to capture both of these translations in the piece, and so it features both very airy and atmospheric sections, as well as extremely cutting and harsh moments. Live performance from York, Clement's Hall in April 2017. Genre Classical
