Ugly Duckling Complete by Elaine Fine published on 2018-02-02T01:02:49Z This Setting of Hans Christian Andersen's Story is divided into four seasons: It begins in summer with the cracking of eggs on the shore of a pond in the meadow. The ugly duckling is taunted by all the birds in the hen yard. In autumn the duckling runs away from the hen yard and hides in a swamp. In winter the duckling has to swim in circles in order to keep the ice from freezing around him. A farmer came by, broke the ice with his clogs, and nursed the duckling back to life. When the farmer's children tried to play with the duckling, he though that they were teasing him for being ugly, and he ran back to the swamp. Then spring came. The duckling spread his wings, and found he could fly. He saw a beautiful white bird in the pond, and he soon realized it was his own reflection. The music is available from Subito Music.
