#588: Skill Can Be Taught -- Attitude Cannot by Dre 'DreAllDay' Baldwin published on 2017-11-13T08:40:00Z The kid scanning my groceries at Publix was dead on his feet. No hello, no smile, not even any eye contact. He forgot to scan one of my items, which I pointed out to him. He spoke for the first time, apologizing and lamenting that he’d “been [at work] since 12.” It was 4:15. This is what happens when a company grows quickly, I thought. Trashy people get jobs because there’s no time to fish for better quality. Knowing nothing else about this person, would you hire him to work for you? Wait — you don’t even know his skills! He might be the best graphic designer alive, and just happens to be in the wrong job!! Are you sure?!?! Attitude. It’s everything. --- Listen on: iTunes | Stitcher | Soundcloud | Google Play | Overcast | Pocket Casts | Blubrry | Player.FM Comment on this episode!
