The product of a remix competition which brought 10 unsigned artists to Cuba to work in the studio with local musics and vocalists, the fifth Havana Cultura project infuses electronic styles less prevalent in Havana — house, footwork, trap and trip-hop — with traditional rhythms such as rumba, salsa and so on.

An ambitious project with impressively refined results, one of the many stand-out talents on the compilation is London's Rukaiya Russell, who fuses UK funky beats with the rich brass and soulful vocals from Los Niches & Charly Mucha Rima on 'Ritmo Sensorial'.
