DJDrew Drew San Francisco Bay Area DJDrew was first active as an underground DJ in the San Francisco Bay Area from 1992 through 2005, as far north as Mendocino County and as far south as Monterey County, the Pacific Ocean to the Sierra Foothills. Often appearing on flyers simply as Drew, or later as DJDrew, he played countless gigs with local luminaries of the Bay Area rave scene including Jeno, Garth, Markie, Thomas, Simon, Tracy, Buck and others. Drew threw down sets at a multitude of legendary venues ranging from the Acme Warehouse to Club Townsend to the King Street Garage, Harbin Hot Springs to the Esalen Institute, at guerrilla-style gatherings in the Santa Cruz mountains and along the California coast. In addition to these tribal gatherings, Drew operated and promoted a number of club residencies for extended runs, some under the flag of his soundsystem Buddha Hi-Fi along with a motley collection of beloved musical explorers. From 2006 until 2022, Drew was on an extended hiatus (with a few notable exceptions), busy with the joys of being a father. Coming back after a devastating fire in 2021 which destroyed his home and his Ancient Archive of almost 4,000 records, DJDrew has officially returned to the decks. Stay tuned!
