BIO: Cindel grew up in the birthplace of House music surrounded by the four on the floor and the music that emanated from the basements on the South Side and the cultural legacy of clubs like the Warehouse. If you have not guessed it, we are talking about the historic influences bequeathed by the originators Frankie Knuckles, Ron Hardy and Paul Johnson in the Windy City of Chicago. This is where House found a home and from that nascent rising it has spawned genres that have gone to circle the globe. In recent times, it is the tribal richness of Afro House that has been creating waves in the underground scene, and DJ Producer Cindel is one of those rare talents who is able to bring all its elements together to deliver extraordinary textures of beats, rhythms, and melodies. A wizard behind the decks, his fluid approach to mixing breathes life into the dancefloor as he takes his audiences on a never-ending journey learnt through a 20-year career in the game. Known as The King of Drums, he owes the very essence of that title to his Puerto Rican heritage. The flamboyance of that genetic imprint is writ large in his character and he is in high demand globally for that magic dust he sprinkles on the turntables. From supporting icons of the industry such as Chus & Ceballos during Pride NYC at the Pier Dance to playing in Tokyo, Korea, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Great Britain and much of Europe, Canada, Mexico and coast to coast in the USA, his sets are renowned for their electrifying and mesmerising blends and song selection. Complimenting that insatiable desire to deliver impeccable music, Cindel has also been immersed in the studio to create tracks that set a new standard on the Afro scene. Inspired by producers Danny Tenaglia, Oscar G, Robbie Rivera, Ninetoes, Monkey Safari, Cloone and many more, his releases have consistently shaped the night in a melange of sounds that not only pays tribute to those icons but which also break new ground. That crossing of boundaries reached new heights with the release of a four track EP in 2024 titled Melodia, with its lead single Astronaut appearing in the Beatport charts. His follow up track in January 2025 Too Far Gone will further enhance his worthy reputation, and with more releases in the pipeline, Cindel is destined to transition from his LGBTQIA+ community into the mainstream with consummate ease.
