2007 Park Encore by DjangoBooks.com published on 2021-01-27T22:19:39Z Shelley Park needs no introduction. Over the past two decades she has earned a reputation as one of the top makers of Selmer style guitars. Her guitars are known for their impeccable workmanship, aesthetic beauty, and warm satisfying tone. This guitar is no exception. The Encore model features a 670mm scale, 15 3/4 " lower bout, and a 4" body depth. The top is spruce, the back and sides are made of solid Indian rosewood and the binding is maple. The neck is constructed of walnut. The ebony fingerboard has a modern, sleek look which is free of fingerboard markers, but does have side dots for positioning. Hardware includes a set of Schaller three on a plate tuners and a DR tailpiece. This instrument has a warm, and balanced tone that makes it a great all around instrument. It's versatile sound makes it a capable lead and rhythm Gypsy jazz guitar, but it can also function well in other styles such as swing, modern jazz, and even folk. It projects nicely but is never harsh. Additionally, the soundport in the upper treble bout acts a monitor for the player, allowing one to hear oneself even in the most challenging acoustic environments. This used guitar is in excellent condition with just few signs of wear. There is some pick wear on the top, a few small scratches and dings, and some moderate fret wear. It is currently setup with slinky, low 2.6mm action which allows for the sort of effortless playability one rarely experiences on long scale Gypsy guitars. This instrument is a nice deal as it would be over $4500 new. Why not give this modern Gypsy masterpiece a whirl? I doubt you'll be disappointed....
