TAPE 006 is mixed and polysomnographed by LauradeDíaz.

LauradeDíaz explores and composes with analog sound, field recordings, samplings, and cassette tape loops. With this combination of techniques, she generates variable sound patterns that evoke dreamlike sensations and immerse in hypnotic states, encouraging the exploration of alternative realms of reality.

Deeply interested in the healing nature of sound and vibrations, she works across various disciplines, including sound installations, performances, and meditations.

She has recently released her first work, "Grupo Frágil" with Ediciones Populares, creating pieces that traverse the realms of light sleep, wakefulness, and vigil. She hosted the radio program "Campo Base" on dublab.es until its conclusion.

This mixtape for VELA is presented as an open letter to the night, an ode to insomniacs who are familiar with the depth of wakefulness and the faint border of light sleep.

In the manner of a polysomnography of the night, I delve into the complex states of sleep and wakefulness. Inspired by the interplay between dreams and reality, this project blends ambient music, experimental music, and sound art to create a rich and immersive sonic experience. I explore the ebbs and flows of consciousness, from the tranquility of deep sleep to the tensions of wakefulness, using layers of sounds to capture these moments.

This sonic collection is a tribute to the fragility of our mind as we navigate between sleep and wakefulness, inviting us to explore the fascinating corners of our psyche through a unique blend of sounds and emotions. As Alejandra Pizarnik wrote, "I know little about the night."
