SX2 'Miracle Mayhem' [Disco Halal] by discohalal

Irish brothers, SX2, return to Disco Halal with their debut EP ‘Miracle Mayhem’, two tracks dripping in left-field groove. The artists hone an indie-dance aesthetic that’s become so synonymous with the label, but with a psychedelic edge that’s certain to transcend any dancefloor. Whether it’s on the title track, with its ever-changing vocal sample that effortlessly moves between the forefront and background, whilst its occasional manipulation pulls you into a state of frenzy before the inevitable euphoric explosion that soon follows.

On the flip side, ‘Where We’re At’ merges the worlds of acoustic and electronic production, pushing the boundaries of dance music in the process. Driven forward by a guitar led bassline, the listener is soon consumed by a sea of synths that grip on to you and refuse to let go. Residing from Waterford, Ireland, Clive and Scott Sullivan have an affinity with the unknown – inspiration can come from anywhere and such an approach is the backbone behind their music. Their offering in ‘Miracle Mayhem’ displays alternative dance music at its finest. A style championed by long-term Disco Halal family (and fellow brothers) Simple Symmetry and label head Moscoman, as well as listeners who are hot on the pursuit for something new.
