Mr. Penguin by Hanru Zhu by DMU Usyd published on 2020-04-21T13:05:28Z Synopsis: Mr Penguin is a fictional podcast about love, loneliness and self-acceptance. It tells the story of a Chinese girl named Cherry who lived in Sydney and found an unexpected guest in her refrigerator. Biography: My name is Hanru, in Chinese you write it like this, “朱含汝”. As an overseas student from mainland China, I experienced an identity crisis when I came to Sydney. In the beginning, I didn’t know how to get along with local students because I saw myself as an outsider. But soon I got the courage and confidence to get involved in campus and social activities, and it’s not that hard. This story is a reflection of my own thoughts and experience. I hope people who listen to the story can truly understand the individual and difficult situation each Chinese student experiences. We need more help from you, we want to be part of you, and we love you, Sydney. Image: https://www.flickr.com/photos/fraumorgenstern/8665175955 Genre Storytelling
