The White Boys in the 1970s & 80s - David Fisher by Culture Vannin published on 2020-01-07T11:22:34Z The traditional Manx Christmastime play, The White Boys / Ny Guillyn Baney, dates back at least 200 years. It is still to be seen on Manx streets today thanks to a group of people in the 1970s who revived this distinctive mummers' play for public performance again. David Fisher was a key part of this group, who performed in The White Boys for 21 years. Here he recalls those early years, how it came about, the reaction they met, some of the wonderful or exasperating experiences they met, and some of the wonderful people who were involved.
