It's a sad song. Because sometimes in life really sad things happen. But as prince(musician)once sang: "Always cry for love, never cry for pain." I think it's alright to feel pain while you're crying. But if you feel the love and greatfulness shining through at the same time, then it's much easier to get along with sad things.
And surely, no matter what kind of times there are: I'm so greatful that there is music.
