Land[e]scape n. 4, for spatial sound sphere (2016) - please use headphones to listen by cjscroccaro

Land[e]scape n. 4 was composed during the 2-week residency at the LMTA Music Innovation Studies Center "Foreign artist residency programme" in Vilnius (2016).

The initial raw sound-material was designed recording a prepared piano with custom-made contact microphones, obtaining specific resonances, attacks, beatings and timbres. The individual samples were than re-composed into new complex sounds, creating new artificial and polyphonic resonances, each with slightly different dynamic and morphological changes and finally distributed creating a resonating space.

The piece is a 14-multitrack work for spatial sound sphere, where the first 6 tracks perform pre-determined trajectories, designed to enhance the shimmering timbres, while the remaining 8 have a fixed position. The movements, beatings and harmonic spaces, are determined by the interaction between these complex sounds creating a counterpoint between the static and dynamic sounds.
