From DJ CHORIQUESO oF #CVCRioGrandeValley: “This mix is dedicated to everyone who can relate growing up in a Mexican tradition household BUT to the young me who didn’t know who she was. She was used to Spanish music and oldies, classic rock. One day she found the love of a different kind of music she felt like she was a part of. Most of these songs have very sad and love lyrics and some which I couldn't even relate to because I was too young. From being called a rocker, attending Warped Tours in early 2000s, being vegetarian because of PETA, wearing dog collars and tons of black thin bracelets, big black pants and shirts. I found myself in a different genre that was different to my parents and family. So this is for everyone who was called or made fun of for being “different”, you're not different, you are YOU and that’s perfectly fine. This mix is always dedicated to my family, kids, boyfriend and just anyone who can relate and enjoys this music. Thank You for all the support.”

About DJ CHORIQUESO: Amanda (she/her) aka DJ ChoriQueso is a mother of twins Penelope Rosa and Olivia Esperanza. She has an amazing boyfriend Davey, who supports her hobbies such as the Chulita Vinyl Club RGV, collecting horror VHS tapes, movie scores/soundtracks vinyl, and creating things with the cricut machine. Amanda has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mexican American Studies and an Associate’s degree in Social Work. In her spare time she also got certified with Non-Invasive Advanced Body Contouring and Skin Tightening. Amanda’s vinyl choices for gigs are usually punk, crust, d-beat, black metal, 80s, alternative, indie, emo and some goth.
