It’s an unshakable belief. That is why any system, to have any hope of being implemented, needs to maintain that belief. The UBI system does that – no one need know you are dependent on it. The problem with public housing or any welfare scheme is the stigmatization – it’s a trap. No one need know what you make or what your UBI contribution is. You can live anywhere and when you purchase things there is no government card identifying you as the underclass.
