Interview with Syro-Malabar Eparch Mar Joseph Srampickal by Catholic Church

For Today's 'Catholic News' podcast we welcome a special guest into the studio - the Eparch of the newly-erected Syro-Malabar Eparchy of Great Britain, Mar Joseph Srampickal.

Not many bishops have their episcopal ordination in a football ground in front of a congregation of over 12,000 people but that's exactly what happened to Bishop Joseph on 9 October 2016 at Preston North End's Deepdale stadium.

There are 40,000 Syro-Malabar Catholics in the UK and the eparchy – an area similar to a diocese with a bishop, in this case the Eparch - has been given a cathedral in Preston, Lancashire.
