Classical Guitar was Carlos Munhoz’s debut album, recorded in 1997 and featuring 20 tracks, more than any other album he would record. Much of the music reaches back to the Renaissance and Baroque eras, featuring works by Bach, Scarlatti, Dowland, Milán, and others.
The worn guitar case pictured on the cover wasn’t a prop. Carlos carried it while playing on street corners and selling his music to make a living, before eventually turning those years of performing into his first recorded album.
