As we are buried by the sands of time
The stars burn out and leave us behind
And even though we're just flesh and bone
The lights are on but nobody's home

Won't be long before the ending comes
And burns away everything we've made
Eye the night and into the haunted light
Gone insane as we draw near the open flame

I could have told you right from the start
The pieces don't fit and they're falling apart
Reason is gone and Madness Remains
And we'll disappear like tears in the rain

It's taken our hearts and twisted our souls
And look at us now, we've lost all control
Will it even matter? Does anyone care?
Or is it all gone beyond repair?

All it ever was
A shadow in the sun
Force fed my head
With strange words that were said
