[PREMIERE] HomeSick - Ampgain by Booms and Claps

If you haven't been paying attention to Alberta, CA's HomeSick, now is the time to shape up. For years, he's been consistently releasing some of the most unique productions across the spectrum of jungle, juke/footwork, bass music beats, DnB, and some other stuff that, to be quite honest, we're not really even sure what to call. He's a Red Bull Music Academy Alum, class of 2015 (they also notably referred to him as a "footwork savant"), he's toured all over the world, including a recent jaunt to China, and his tracks have garnered support from some of the best in the game, including folks like Om Unit and DJ Craze. 

Today's premiere comes in the form of HomeSick's most recent single entitled "Amplive", a growling hip hop beat that draws as much influence from the likes of heavier bass music artists like EPROM as it does from instrumental beatmakers like J Dilla, Madvillain, and Flying Lotus. We could see this easily landing on Alix Perez's 1985 Music just as easily as Brainfeeder Records. The intro is a building cacophony of analog bass synthesization that peaks in a "break your neck" type beat that would have even the most unwilling of listeners nodding their head along. The track ultimately develops into a lush soundscape of beautiful melody all while retaining the wonky syncopated drum pattern that defined the track in the first place. We're left feeling a deep sense of satisfaction after listening to this track, and we think you will too.
