Inspired by experiences as a young Aboriginal man residing in Queensland's capital; "Red Black and Yellow" paints a vivid picture of the everyday challenges black Australia continues to endure.
As police officer Christopher Hurley escaped conviction, the murder of Aboriginal people was once again declared just by Australian law and racial tensions between black and white Australians reached an all time high. "Red Black Yellow" encapsulates the mindset of a Murri striving to achieve despite the relentless forces attempting to control and marginalise Aboriginal people. In addition to the above,"Red Black and Yellow" is a representation of the strength and knowledge I had the privilege of gaining from elders, teachers, friends, family and activists of the Brisbane region.
