At the Crossroads with Vincent (a Van Gogh walk) by Artangel published on 2014-05-28T13:24:39Z At the Crossroads with Vincent is a free audio walk that reimagines the emotional landscape of Vincent van Gogh's London. It was made by R.M. Sánchez-Camus with Isa Suarez and artists from CoolTan Arts and produced by Artangel. Although the track can be listened to anywhere in the world, it was developed in the area surrounding 87 Hackford Road, London where Van Gogh lived from 1873 to 1984. This period can be seen as a turning point in the artist's life as it was during this year that he first experienced a period of depression, lost his job and began to seek out a new identity. Van Gogh allegedly suffered from epilepsy, bi-polar disorder and delusions and this walk looks at mental health and how we might put ourselves in the vulnerable position of using our imagination publicly.
