Alex Alben Alex Alben New York City Techno producer. Longtime DJ. Ceaseless ruminator. Haircut avoider. Alex Alben is a jester with many faces. As a youngster growing up in the suburbs of New York City, he fantasized about a life as a music maker, dabbling in production and DJing parties for his classmates. However, his path from hobby to profession was serpentine, as though a strand of spaghetti slithering through spacetime. He graduated from college with degrees in Math and Business and took a job as an Investment Banker. Three years, countless pastel button-downs, and one textbook case of occupational burnout later, he snapped and decided to turn his lifelong passion for music into a career. In the time since, Alex has been diligently developing his production skills while DJing storied NYC stages including Webster Hall, Pacha, Santos Party House and Cielo. In 2014, he found his creative home in the relentless embrace of techno and has not looked back since. 2017 brought Alex's debut release, a now sold-out 12" vinyl EP on local cornerstone New York Trax. He followed it up later in the year with another well-received EP on Berlin-based label Konstruktiv that put underground techno on the front page of Beatport, peaking at the #2 spot on both the Overall Top 100 Release chart and Techno Top 100 Release chart. Alex's music has been supported and played by many of the most respected techno DJs in many of the most revered clubs around the world.
