Having been championed by BBC Introducing’s Vic Galloway, Ally McCrae and Amazing Radio’s Jim Gellatly, Burning Youth by Cherri Fosphate has come with a great deal of anticipation. Perfectly demonstrating the band’s unique brand of drum infused guitar pop, Burning Youth comes riddled with perfectly formed winding guitar pieces and resonant bass lines, driven by forceful yet graceful drums. Tracks such as ‘Kerry Rodgers’ and ‘Wool’ paint the perfect picture of danceable indie-rock. Coloured by the band’s intricate fretwork, where major cords blend into explosive, powerful percussion, the band are able to create a potent record which grips the mind, body and soul. Formed in February 2010, Cherri Fosphate have already built an established following in their hometown of Glasgow. Consisting of Jonny Sharpe (vocals/rhythm guitar), Alan Robinson (lead guitar), Jordan Lannigan (bass) and Sonny Kainth (drums/backing vocals) the band have cited influences of key indie stalwarts like The Strokes and Bloc Party alongside current buzz bands Little Comets, Frightened Rabbit and The Maccabees. The band have supported Dry The River, The Crookes and Vigo Thieves as well as making festival appearances at Belladrum Tartan Heart, GoNorth and Brew at the Bog, as well a sold out show at King Tut’s in January as the band form a notorious live reputation, capturing an audience where ever they play. Cherri Fosphate will be supporting their release with the 'Burning Youth' U.K Tour, starting on 4th May at Brew In The Bog. The launch will take place at Broadcast in Glasgow on 11th May kicking the tour off in style and taking place throughout May, June and July, making Cherri Fosphate a must-see act in 2013.
