The pop duo DaXx, based in Kobe, and the music producer duo 64controll, actively performing DJ and live activities based in Tokyo and the Kansai region, have teamed up for a project called 64DX (read: Roku-Yon Deluxe), which released their album "64DX" on March 27th (Wednesday). Neibiss and seep minutes from the Kobe hip-hop crew Nerd Space Program are participating.
The two groups, who have interacted at events in the past, began collaborating at the beginning of 2023. zéne, who lives in Tokyo, U-koh from Osaka, and ness and yomgida from Kobe mainly worked on the production fragmentarily via Zoom, but after a training camp on Awaji Island, a concept was added, and the work was compiled into an album.
Each song fully showcases the strengths of 64controll, who are well-versed in juke/footwork and electro, and DaXx, who excel in a mixture of hip-hop, hyperpop, and ambient. While the tracks showcasing ness's lyrical and melodic sense shine, the three instrumental tracks ("TEEENKAAAIII", "HAAADAAASHIII", and "JUUUNBIII") produced by the album's producers are also must-listens.
The album was entirely produced and mastered by the members themselves. Additionally, zéne created the album artwork and various other artworks, while yomgida produced the music video and teaser videos.
In addition to being available on various streaming services, the album will be released on CD with the same package design as the artwork.
