Archaic Podcast 223 - Ian Void by Archaic

Ian Void is DJ and Producer that has been involved in the UK techno scene for over 20 years. As the promoter of one of the UK's Finest Underground techno nights of the nineties and early 00’s, Geushky.

Ian’s productions earned him acclaim in the late nineties, with a style that was aimed directly at the tougher end of the techno spectrum, His DJ sets have always been hi-octane, encompassing many genres that can sustain a direct but diverse approach sometimes surprising crowds with breakbeats, vocals and rave anthems whist maintaining that techno groove.

Ian ran the hugely successful underground Techno club 'Geushky' from the early 90's until 2003 which was based in his home town of Portsmouth & headed up the labels ‘Geushky Recordings’ and later, ‘Intravenous Cuts’. He has played in over 30 countries, remixed some infamous artists and has tracks that have appeared on compilations from Carl Cox and Mauro Picotto to name just two. New collaborations are in place for some exciting releases in 2017.

A veteran DJ that can invigorate any dance floor, Techno is at the root of his soul. A deep understanding of the genre and a knowledge of how to create a mode at the drop of a track. A proper DJ.

His DJ sets that traverse across multiple genres without having to categorise. This approach allows him to be evermore expressive with ever changing tastes and the continually evolving world of electronic music with a keen eye firmly focused on the dancefloor.

Ian relaunched the Geushky Recordings label in Autumn 2017 as a digital outlet and this has been very well received with support from big names in techno, such as Dave Clarke, Dax J, The Advent, Charlotte De Witte and loads more. The label is going from strength to strength and Ian is hoping to take this sound on the road again.

Geushky techno is well and truly back!
