Although 'Arguments' was generating a buzz on local radio, Protoje's first music video was yet to be released when he heard about a place called Jamnesia in Bull Bay. Attending as a spectator, it was soon clear that, somehow, his name was smuggled onto the list of performers. When Inilek Wilmot - lead guitarist for the band, From The Deep, and Jamnesia's host - invited him on stage, Protoje took it as a sign that it was time to begin scratching his itch for live music. Having never before performed with a band, he had no idea what to expect. The result was an unforgettable and refreshing display.

"This was an extremely important night in my development as an artist. Think about it: that night I was introduced to Jamnesia for the first time, just went up on stage without ever playing with a live band before. For the first time, I did a set with Jason Worton and I met Inilek that night also and heard Jah9 sing for the first time."
