Young Volcanoes - "Traffic" by Good Cop PR published on 2012-10-09T14:24:08Z Celebrated multi-instrumentalist, Zac Clark, known for his work with The Queen Killing Kings [Wind-Up Records] and Smoke Signals, has been keeping himself busy as an active touring member of Vermont's Chamberlin and prepping for the launch of a project that finds him truly coming into his own, entitled Young Volcanoes. Recorded at Strangeways Recording in Providence, RI and mixed in Los Angeles by Brian Scheuble (John Mayer, Tom Petty, Elton John), Young Volcanoes is the culmination of years of collaborative efforts to create a succinct musical arrangement that's autobiographical in nature. These stories are an introduction to an individual, true to influences from the distant past but determined to resist the current while bringing something new to a crowded sea. The essence of the Young Volcanoes project is about more than just transcribing life experience to song but to have those songs help give back. After losing his mother to cancer, Zac looked to use his talent to help the cause and raised thousands of dollars through Pledge Music to support Burlington's Cancer Patient Support Program (www.cpspvt.org). Young Volcanoes is not just a band or an album but a musical chapter in Zac's life. "I'm more excited than ever to acknowledge that my music comes from the unique experiences that have made up my life," he divulges, "and to move forward with the same spirit of the singer/songwriters I grew up on- fully inhabiting these songs and presenting them as nothing more than extensions of my personality, my way of communicating, and the community that helped raise me in so many ways."
