@interiordestinations: my journeys are never so seamless, the coach always stops and starts. Sometimes I travel through towns, sometimes through the country, sometimes I wake and am startled by a change of scenery. The intention was not to make a mix that floated along seamlessly but to make a mix that in some way mirrored the ebb and flow of travel and reminded me of the tapes I used to make to accompany my youthful journeys. I always made eclectic mix tapes back then so I suppose it was inevitable that this mix would reflect that. If you want mixes that are more seamlessly ambient and floaty I am sure you will find plenty more ASIP mixes that do that for you!

You know, i'm gonna be really honest here. There is a lot of good tracks with some really out of place tracks mixed in. Those tracks that should probably not be there, either derail the flow of the mix or go off on a tangent that really takes away from the continuity of the mix as a whole. Examples such as a track that turns into break beat feel. The direction of the mix is apparent, in that, it feels as though it should transport the listener from point A to point B with the feeling of being taken up by the wind and gently put back down in a meadow some where in the far distance. It stops short of doing this because of the tracks that sound off key to their respective position in the mix, or tracks that obviously feel like they have another track not well mixed along side them, or just tracks that should plainly not be there. This takes away from the imaginative properties that some of this mix shows it's face in. This can leaving the listener uncomfortable at times where they should be back drifting along what should be a seamless journey through what ever your mind associates to this mix.
Hopefully this is not considered a scathing review, but rather a constructive criticism. Thank you for the tunes for the most part in this mix, I do appreciate ASIP.
Best,
