Solidarity With the Uhuru Three by Black Agenda Radio published on 2024-08-08T21:51:59Z On July 29, 2022, the FBI raided 7 locations in St. Petersburg, Florida and St. Louis, Missouri that were properties of the African Peoples Socialist Party and Uhuru Movement. Three people, Omali Yeshitela, Penny Hess, and Jesse Nevel were later indicted on charges related to operating as "unregistered foreign agents” which could result in prison terms of 15 years. Their trial is set to begin on September 3 in Tampa, Florida. On August 31 a “Not One Step Backwards” March and Rally will be held at Uhuru House in St. Petersburg. Omali Yeshitela joins us from St. Petersburg, Florida to discuss this case and also offer his observations on this political moment in the US. We also discussed this year’s presidential election and the defeat of Congresswoman Cori Bush.
