IVAN MILEV

IVAN MILEV is a Bulgarian accordionist and composer, born on April 24, 1956 in the village of Dalbok Izvor, Bulgaria. In his longstanding musical career as an accordionist, Ivan has established himself as one of the founders of the rules of Balkan Folk music. His unique style is a blend of classical music, jazz, Eastern European music, as well as melodies from the Middle East.

In 1978 he founded the Mladost Orchestra, which under his direction, won prestigious awards in the field of Bulgarian wedding music. Since 1999 Ivan Milev has been living and working in the United States. In 2002 Ivan Milev met Entcho Todorov, an outstanding violinist, playing on Broadway. As a duo they played at clubs and cultural events in New York City. Together they formed Ivan Milev Band and in 2006 they recorded their album The Flight of Krali Marco. With his band Ivan Milev continued performing and spreading the beauty of Balkan folk music throughout North America and Canada. Ivan Milev is the author of three music collections for accordion, based on Bulgarian folklore. Expect his 4th book in October, 2025.
