Rain ... with Seagull and David Dunham by 1234567890 published on 2025-02-19T22:18:28Z One of the more enriching aspects of a collab' project like this, is the exchange of ideas, drivers and perceptions about the topic at hand; please note that those which follow are mine alone. Rain that is not acid, but acrid, coming, as it does, from the persistent shower of vile spittle emanating from the crooked mouths of the horde of liars, cheats, frauds and fornicators at Westminster. Their policies as illegitimate as their credentials (and certain other aspects of their lives), these creatures shuffle about at the feet of their gay muslim billionaire benefactor / puppetmaster, shamelessly lapping up his tossed treats and trinkets in return for unfettered access to the heart of an executive whose mission is as fraudulent as its mandate: the eradication of the indigenous population, its culture and its history. Their tools of the trade familiar to any rapacious despot of a failed state: fabricated manifestos; indoctrination to brainwash; history rewritten; injunctions to stem free speech; cancelled elections; suppression of mainstream media through litigative threat; transformation of the national broadcaster to the faithful puppy propaganda mouthpiece of the party machine; and hands-on directive control of judiciary and police functions to impose a vindictive and vicious two tier justice system within which peaceful protestors are handed brutal custodial sentences leading to a (no doubt welcome) uptick in prison suicides, as others, of a different ethnic background, violently assault a female police officer or stand on podiums with megaphones, exhorting the crowds before them to slash throats, and then walk free with police protection whilst the precious human rights of convicted terrorists are nurtured even as the mouths of their victims’ loved ones are sealed with gagging orders. Oh, and should you wish, in this crumbling Year Zero aspirational autocracy, to publicly reject the learned principles underpinning any particular religious faith, then the aforementioned politically directed police will happily offer you a light for any holy text you wish to burn in order to make your point. With one exception. And it isn’t the bible.... And so it rains…. ___________________________________________________________________________ Photo by Norbert Tóth on Unsplash Comment by DAN - DT Once again the trio in action, for this beautiful musical image .... Yes, truly magnificent, and a lovely sung interpretation of your text. (Let's not forget the voice of that delightful Clara in the background, of course). 2025-06-01T10:03:36Z Comment by Luceole I love this song, especially the piano intro ✨🫶 2025-05-21T10:17:04Z Comment by Sonni Quick This is wonderful. such great storytelling. A whole genius described without mincing words. 2025-03-03T23:37:54Z Comment by Ed Cunningham I could just as well mark all the tracks on this page with the heart...always amazing both lyrically and musically. 2025-03-01T19:38:03Z Comment by Neno J. Great collab! 2025-02-28T07:21:02Z Comment by David Dunham I'm a bit speechless after reading your track note my friend; you said what needed to be said with bitter eloquence. I can only pray that mother England can find a way out of the mess she is mired in. To our collaboration, and really all our collaborations, you have been a voice of reasonable humanity and the soul of our work together. Seagull has been our main composer and conductor. I couldn't have asked for better company in our journeys to find a way to a better world. 2025-02-27T15:44:01Z Comment by The Windscale Blues Experiment Brakes are coming off...we're sliding down the pan on a tidal wave. Thanks for this amazing collaborative expression. 2025-02-26T10:37:31Z Comment by THE BOY Cinematic song...great collaboration... 2025-02-26T02:18:25Z Comment by markjbennett I'm speechless and anyway, you've said it all and so well. Wonderful work by all! 2025-02-23T02:41:23Z Comment by Jonathan Beckenstein Suitably heartbreaking. I will offer that the solution we have found over here is shaping up to be no better. I do feel your pain and frustration. 2025-02-22T19:49:07Z Comment by Jeffrey George Beautiful poetic song 2025-02-22T11:17:52Z Comment by Michele Ansani Here the sense of desperation that I had perceived, despite David's description, is revealed in all its power. And obviously I share it. Enormous work, Peter! 2025-02-22T11:06:45Z Comment by BeSinger I must admit, I am always excited, to listen to new work from you Peter. And I am never disappointed. This again is a masterpiece instrumentally and more than that lyrically and vocally. Wouldn’t have expected more from a new Peter Gabriel song. This is really great work. 2025-02-22T11:00:14Z Comment by FarOut Music Studio A big thank you my dear friends for giving me another opportunity to experience a fantastic musical collaboration with you both. No matter what the world looks like, music and the love for it have no boundaries. ;) 2025-02-22T07:02:00Z
