In a University of Victoria-led study, the first data-driven estimate of the Earth’s total supply of groundwater shows that less than six per cent is renewable within a human lifetime.

The study, published November 16 in Nature Geoscience, is also co-authored by Kevin Befus at the University of Texas at Austin, and Elco Luijendijk of the University of Göttingen.
