Lola Kinks is the alter ego of @lorealporceia—a Philly-based healing practitioner, sexuality educator, licensed social worker, and artist. Born in Richmond, Virginia and raised in Landstuhl, Germany & Atlanta, Georgia, her enthusiasm for music blossomed during her early years abroad. While there, she initially drew inspiration from the jazz rock, Brit funk, and acid jazz artists that her father introduced into their household: Steely Dan, Level 42, and Brand New Heavies, to name a few.

A self-proclaimed retro music & pop culture nerd; she lives for deepening her knowledge in oft-forgotten vintage media history, as well as widening her vocation as a vinyl DJ. In alignment with her work as a(n) educator and healer, her greatest passion as a musical artist resides in holding space for folks to learn, unite in joyful communion, & achieve healing through music and movement.

"This all vinyl mix is an homage to a smattering of late 70s/early-late 80s soul, r&b, and electro funk jams and artists I hold dear. Likewise, the musical amalgamation nods to some of the pioneers of that era, including Dexter Wansel, Steve Arrington, and the dearly departed Kashif. From start to finish, listeners are taken on a journey through some of the most influential sonic vibes over the span of my life's trajectory--closing out with 42 seconds of electronic joy, courtesy of my favorite album of all time."
