it feels almost trite to the point of childishness to try to point out a theme of "sonic meaning", music for the sake of music, so i wanted to make music for the sake of me instead. i wanted to make music for the sake of MAKING music, and not the music itself. the reason all my music sounds like shit is because it just does sound like shit and it sucks and it sounds bad but ive been wanting to start making music as an experience, rather than making a product. ive had a sort of carnal desire to mesh my body with audio; i want to lay my hand on the keyboard and create a melody based on the distance my fingers are from eachother, and i want to notice the intervalic difference in notes that my fingers on my hands naturally are drawn towards. so i made Super Music which is a 13 minute and 45 second song filled with dogshit sounds and rhythms and i had so much fun making it. every single melody is played by hand with minimal quantization and i used a million different instruments and a million different beats because thats what i wanted to do and it lags my computer so bad to open the file but coming home and opening the project and adding more shit on to the song felt incredibly cathartic. i hope that if u submit to the same boring, danceable rhythms, and boring, tonic melodies, u can find the same carnal joy that i get when i process my art
