STANDARD216 Matt Johnson Cleveland Standard, is a 34 year old Christian hip hop artist and licensed minister born and raised in Cleveland, OH. He first hit the studio in 2007 with up and coming producer/long time friend, Syxx L.E.M. to try his hand at secular rapping. He wrote some lyrics, a beat was made on fruity loops software and the end result was Standard's first song, #Matt Heads... he then followed with a host of other songs but something struck him. Being raised in the inner city but in the church as well, he decided rap was good but the message for him in it had change. Syxx L.E.M. cooked up another beat and produced Standard's first Christian rap song #PUSH which then spawned a music video to PUSH produced/directed by AMP ent in 2013. The same year his first mixtape #RealTalkVol1 was released independtly. Standard performed his music in concert clubs, churches, community events etc... #Reverbnation and #SoundCloud helped to reach and even broader and diverse audience. #Facebook #Twitter #YouTube expanded his audience even more as well as various mixtape websites. In 2014 he followed up with his 2nd project #RealTalkVol2 from this cd he was able to move into bigger venues such as the Hard Rock Cafe and Malone University to share his music. From 2015-2017 Standard didn't release a project but rather extensively promoted previously recorded music.
