"Accidentally (On Keyboards)" - Accidentally (On Purpose) with added synth textures from Mark Kelly by solobasssteve published on 2013-07-11T14:59:17Z Following a fairly chance meeting at a 'Music Producers Guild' event, Mark Kelly (keyboardist with UK prog legends Marillion) and I started hatching plans for some kind of collaboration. Mark's initial suggestion was to take some of the things I've already released and add keyboards. A lovely gentle way of seeing just how our sound-worlds line up. That he chose one of the tracks with Daniel Berkman (the title track from our January 2013 album) makes it all the more interesting, as Mark's synth sounds meld with Daniel's mixture of processed and organic textures and the various bits of ambient bass swirling around in there, til it's pretty much impossible to tell who's doing what, unless you compare back to the original (also here on Soundcloud) and see what's new... I'm really taken with the sensitivity of what Mark has done with this - subtle textural explorations into some of the spaces in the original tune, only occasionally placing ideas in the foreground... Have a listen, let us know what you think, and we'll have more for you soon :) Genre Instrumental Comment by danlincoln Love the Hendrix on Acid vibe here 2015-02-18T14:17:33Z Comment by Mark-Kelly I'm really please both Steve and Daniel like my additions to their music. I tried to record my parts in the same spirit as the original recording by just improvising over the music as it went past. Of course, there are now things I would like to change, add or remove... 2013-07-11T17:21:57Z Comment by solobasssteve @berthetrepat: thank you! Really glad you like it. I'm excited to hear what the combination of Mark and I comes up with next (Daniel and I have already got 11 hours of music in the process of being released!) 2013-07-11T15:24:28Z Comment by Berthe Trepat This is SO beautiful, SO inspiring! Thank you Steve. 2013-07-11T15:22:53Z
