For 20 years, Melbourne’s iconic party harbors have laid down the carpets for Rowie. From one of his first iconic shows at Seven’s regular breaks night Fractured, to his continuing 12year residency at the infamous OneSixOne. Settling high end spots at Revolver, Circus, Platform One and Q Bar, Rowie created the opportunity to build a long standing and well crafted profile to take him even further to the hottest spots around town. Encasing an ideal mould of goodness an artist can perfect, Rowie impresses the veteran industry moguls together with the spark of the forthcoming generations not only as a DJ but as one of the city’s most respected promoters with events like his own Bamboozled.
From clubs to festival tours, Rowie is undoubtedly an attraction in the most positive of musical ways. An abundance of gloried house, disco and techno sounds, this musical educator has been at the forefront for as long as you can remember, with an utmost respect from dance music’s professionals Mike Monday and Alex Kidd. Notoriously framing acapellas and heavy house lines amongst the gravel of the heavy underground, Rowie encapsulates the story behind a tune, a crowd and the early morning dance floors. With an underground credibility and well rounded DJ nature, this talent has lined up with the most sought after of the dance crew like Sebastien Leger, Mike Monday, Ewan Pearson, Stevie Kotey (Chicken Lips), Alex Kidd, Trentemoller, Tiefschwartz, Norman Jay, Jungle Brothers and Perry Farrell. With a heavy involvement at Australia’s music haven Triple J and studio positions with Duffield Kenihan, co-owned by legendary and praised Australian keyboardist Andrew Duffield, James Rowe hasn’t stepped a foot out of line with his fingers on a few record players.
