This book presents a comprehensive overview of the overlaps and convergences of gender, feminisms, and peace as the fields of study, policy, and activists’ praxes. The authors’ claim is that feminist thinking is as necessary to understand and analyse the core phenomena that the discipline of peace and conflict studies revolved around, as it is fundamental to think through and about the solutions to the global problems that the discipline has been grappling with. In addition to the usual focus of mainstream peace and conflict research on arms trade, militarism, and peacekeeping, the book brings in also the questions of technologies and peace, AI, human-non-human species relations, postcolonial and decolonial feminist perspective, as well as queering of war and peace, art, and popular culture.
