Interview with Eugene Hutz and Santeri Ahlgren by nadiakuftinoff published on 2011-01-27T21:09:09Z Monday 6th December 2010. Backstage in the catering room at Kulttuuritalo, Helsinki, Finland. 5:41 pm. I was only supposed to interview Eugene Hutz, lead singer of Gogol Bordello for my BA dissertation entitled "Nomadic Chronicle: How are the Roma reflected in Contemporary Music" but he had a surprise special guest for me to talk to as well - Santeri Ahlgren of Mannen Menuetti Orkesteri, also one of the most prominent Roma in Finland. The interview was filmed for what I believe to be SuomiTV news though I've yet to see the recording. Both my Dictaphone and digital camera failed me for this interview so most of the audio was kindly provided by Tommi Ojala. It took me 11 days, 7 gigs and 5 countries before I managed to get this interview because of one thing or another but was definitely worth the wait. Please excuse my lack of professionalism - it's a fun, informal interview. Relax! A full transcription is available at my blog: http://sixteentwelve88.livejournal.com/47666.html#cutid1 Genre Interview
