Mystic Tea Party Melbourne NEW SINGLE 'THE LOOKING GLASS' NOW: https://mysticteaparty.fanlink.tv/the-looking-glass Mystic Tea Party is an alternative electronic rock project from Melbourne, formed by vocalist Blume and Polish-Australian producer Sebastian Walach. The project started during the long lockdowns of 2021, when the two began building songs in a small home studio with no real expectations beyond making something honest. What emerged was a dark, cinematic sound that blends breakbeat electronics with alternative rock, trip-hop atmosphere, and shoegaze textures. Mystic Tea Party’s music moves between shadowy electronic grooves and explosive guitar moments. Blume’s voice sits at the centre of it all, drifting between fragile and confrontational while the production pulls from everything from 90s alternative to futuristic electronic music. Their debut single “I’m Addicted” arrived in early 2023 and coincided with Blume appearing in a global World Pride campaign as Australia’s first openly intersex musician. The track introduced the band’s sound to a wider audience and led to coverage from outlets including Harper’s Bazaar, Vice, and Daily Mail, alongside radio play across Australia. Follow-up single “Aftertaste” pushed the project further into darker territory, gaining attention internationally and building a growing audience in the US, Europe and Asia. Mystic Tea Party now operate as a live band with Aaron Muller on drums and Adam Brown on bass, bringing the studio’s dense electronic sound into a loud, physical live show. Their upcoming releases expand the project even further, moving between electronic experimentation, industrial-leaning rock, and dreamlike cinematic soundscapes.
