Jas Jas, is a self taught emerging Canadian artist and producer. Jas developed an interest in music early on in his childhood but after the untimely passing of his brother much of Jas’ life is shrouded in mystery. Jas recently resurfaced in early 2019 releasing his debut single “Night Time” independently. Dedication to the honest truth is the foundation of Jas’ artistic identity. Unabashedly introspective and keenly observant of his emotions, Jas spent his early adolescence honing the sure-footed, narrative-led lyrics that have become synonymous with his signature R&B Crooner style. Jas’ 2019 debut album, “November”, which featured songs such as, “Rewind,” “Lava,” and the extremely personal “November 24th.” The sprawling musical opus, which highlights moments in the young artists personal relationship history spanning the past few years, is held together by the singer’s innate talent for uniting genres into new, hybrid soundscapes. November is defined by a revisitation of the “Trapsoul” style of Bryson Tiller, a blend of Hip-Hop and R&B conventions; Jas embraces the world of knocking 808s and smooth melodies alongside the polished gloss of his trademark croon. He is able to recall his own story with remarkable clarity and translate its impact on his present with pragmatism, verity and true emotion. We are seeing Jas for what he is—a young man growing, progressing and learning in an ever-changing world that can be capricious and cruel, but also beautiful and filled with warmth.
