Heavyball Magnetic North Melodies London Heavyball are a self titled ‘new tone’ band originally from Nottingham. Formed in late 2011 when brothers Bigface and Habs Salisbury and school friend Johnny Iball, began to play together. 2014 saw them joined by Tom 'Stone Cold' Frost on lead guitar. The band's sound is impertinent indie with a cheeky nod to ska. Influences include The Kingsmen, Jimmy Cliff and Fleetwood Mac. In February 2013 Heavyball supported the Kaiser Chiefs on their UK tour. Heavyball’s first EP, Small Town Hero, recorded by producer Dave Creffield (Embrace, James), was released in June 2012 and received BBC airplay across the country. At the beginning of 2014 they signed to the independent record label Magnetic North Melodies. 2014 saw the band with numerous UK shows including a tour of the TT races. Following playing the Strawberry Fields festival in August the band embarked on a European tour in October with dates in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and Holland. In 2016 they returned to Europe to headline more shows in Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands and Austria. In January 2016 the band went back into the recording studio. 3 new tracks have already been completed for their second album.
